The first Peninsula Legal Writing Competition for Graduate Students was held online from April 11th to May 14th 2020. It consisted of two stages, the preliminary rounds and the finals. The preliminary rounds are organized by the universities themselves. Comprised of five law graduate students under the guidance of Associate Professor Leng Ling from the School of Humanities and Law, the China University of Petroleum (East China) team won through to the finals and was handsomely rewarded. Among the team members, Wang Xin (Class 2, grade 2019) won 1st prize with a high score of 91, Xin Yicong (Class 2, grade 2019) won 3rd prize, while Wang Xiangping and Yue Xiaojun (both from Class 1, grade 2018) jointly won the Excellence Award. The competition not only created an atmosphere for legal learning on the peninsula, but also provided a platform for law majors to showcase themselves as well as improve their real-world abilities of seeking the truth and being pragmatic. Communication between law schools on the Shandong Peninsula was strengthened as a result of this competition, which also proved itself a platform for exchange between law students from various universities.
