Zhou Lingyu, a student from the College of Arts, made a good performance in the selective trials and won the third prize in the Final of university group of the 24th China Daily “21st Century·Coca-Cola Cup” National English Speaking Competition. And her mentor Fu Xiao was also awarded the title of “Excellent Instructor”.
There are 75 competitors from nationally renowned universities participating in the competition with many rounds of fierce competitions, such as impromptu speech, topic-fixed speech, on-site question and answer.
Besides, in the online contest, Zhou won the special prize of “We Care” sponsored by the Committee through her highlighting the value of housewives in contemporary society.
This competition demonstrates our student’s excellence and comprehensive quality, expands our university’s influence, and provides valuable experience and guidance for cultivating foreign language talents and improving students’ foreign language application ability.
